My Approach: IFS Therapy, Midfulness, Compassion

Mapping Our Inner World. Internal Family Systems therapy offers a map for navigating the complexity of our inner world. It helps us understand how protective patterns develop and what vulnerable parts they guard. With this guidance, we can approach hidden pain gently and at a safe pace. By tending to the deeper roots of our struggles, lasting change and a greater sense of inner harmony become possible.

Developing Calm Presence. A central part of my work is cultivating a specific quality of attention toward our internal experiences. We learn to meet ourselves and our parts with curiosity and care. Rather than being overwhelmed by intense emotions, we learn to observe them from a centered place. This presence creates space to see our inner world clearly, understand our pain better, and recognize what it needs to heal.

Healing through Compassion. Compassion is the active force that allows our inner parts to soften, trust, and heal. When we meet ourselves with warmth and care, a sense of safety emerges that supports deep and lasting change. This shift—from self-judgment to genuine care—is where real healing happens. Our old patterns begin to relax and our system can begin healing.

My Process: Relational, trauma-informed therapy

My approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, where "symptoms" are understood as meaningful parts rather than problems to eliminate. I invite you to come with your thoughts, emotions, impulses, and inner reactions exactly as they are. Rather than trying to change or move past them, we will explore these experiences together as small but meaningful signals guiding us toward the most authentic and important parts of you. They help us connect with the parts of you that are asking for understanding, care, and relationship.

I meet people where they are, without expectation of how they should think, feel, or show up. I bring my professional, caring parts while staying fully human, and I invite you to do the same. You’re welcome to show up unedited, with all your parts — tears, laughter, strong language, and moments that don’t need polishing.

I live in the port city, on a riverbank, surrounded by nature but close to town. I meet clients online from my cozy attic office, where my cat colleague often shows up on screen to quietly support the session. Like everyone in the room, she is held to the same standards of confidentiality.

In my time before and after sessions, you will usually find me hermiting at home, working on a new ceramics or knitting project. If you see me outside my home, I'm probably going to the climbing gym, prepping for my next trip to somewhere warm, with plenty of rock to climb.

My Training: CBT, IFS, mindfulness and compassion based psychotherapy

My work as a therapist is informed by my training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through IFSCA, alongside training in mindfulness- and compassion-based approaches, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and clinical psychology.

I have developed my foundational skills for Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) through my main training with Derek Scott and Robyn Dickson. I have since explored ancestral and legacy wounding, trauma therapy, and the therapeutic use of psychedelics (MDMA, psilocybin, ketamine) in advanced workshops and masterclasses with Gustavo Mello, Bob Falconer, Kay Gardner, and Frank Anderson.

I am a certified mindfulness and compassion teacher, having completed the Mindfulness Meditation and Compassion Teacher Certification Program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. This training allows me to integrate self-awareness, curiosity, and nurturing care into my work, helping clients develop compassion toward themselves and their inner parts.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Leiden University, Netherlands, where my thesis explored the neural correlates of ketamine and heart rate variability, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from LCC International University, where my research examined mindfulness-based practices for medically unexplained symptoms. My foundational training includes Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy with leading international experts, as well as specialized workshops in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and stress reduction.

I have also completed foundational Human Design studies, including Living Your Design, Rave ABCs, and Rave Cartography, which inform the way I support clients to understand and live in alignment with their unique energetic makeup.
